Houston, Texas based Extreme Technologies has an opening in our Telecommunications division for a “Senior-Level Technician” with strong team leadership skills.  Our product mix represents the best in the industry: Avaya, NEC, Lucent, Nortel, Toshiba, VOIP, Cisco, Coax, Cat 3, 5, 5e, 6 & Fiber optics.  Extreme Technologies combines a widespread of enterprise network services with a diverse of long term relationships with vendors for Voice, Data, Structured Cabling and IP Telephony which provides companies with complete IT and Business solution offerings.

Candidates must have 10+ years of proven phone and cabling experience with various systems.  It is imperative that the individual has strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate with customers. He/she must be a self starter, fast learner and have a clean driving record.

There is a strong opportunity to participate in commissions if candidates have ability to bring in new sales opportunities and want to help grow the business. 

 Responsibilities for phone systems:

·         Excellent experience working w/ Nortel, Avaya, Lucent, Toshiba, VOIP & Cisco.

·         Performs adds, move, changes to new and existing equipment. 

·         Installation and program from start to finish; including voicemail.

·         Running daily service and maintenance for existing customer base.

·         Interface and train customers when needed.

·         Provides programming, support and maintenance of voice mail systems.

·         Pulls/installs voice and data cables.

Responsibilities for Cabling:

·         Ability to install and pull Cat 3, 5, 5e, 6 cable

·         Fiber Optic

·         Coax

·         Audio / Visual

·         Tie Cables

·         Terminate jacks

·         Must be a Team Player and high motivated

·         Excellent Management skills

·         EXCELLENT communication skills, very reliable, organized, hard working and able to work independently.

Solid Knowledge of Telecom infrastructure

·         Pulls/installs voice & data cables.

·         Programming, support and maintenance

·         Pre-Phone & Cabling preparation

·         Installation of Patch Panels, Punch Downs, 66/110 b blocks, 110-patch panels

·         Various data and voice jacks

·         Must be able to install, terminate and test all forms of communication cabling
