Extreme Technologies, Inc. is looking for an experience Level II administrator that follows existing procedures and standards to troubleshoot existing problems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):
· Administers, maintains, develops and implements policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the company database.
· Resolves database performance issues
· Plans for growth (capacity planning)
· Installs new software releases, upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems
· Monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity (alert logs, trace files, etc). Applies policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of the databases
· Submits database change requests approved by management
· Writes recommendations to known problems
· Helps Level III Administrator identify and document weaknesses in design and process
· Helps Level III Administrator research technical issues
· Creates and executes test plans
· Creates project plans
· Mentors Administrators
· Analyzes and resolves end user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion.
· Configures and installs new databases according to standards
· Documents procedures for disaster recovery
· Creates implementation checklists
· Works closely with Unix administrator to ensure new servers are configured according to standards

· Applies patches and updates
· Clones production instances to make test and development environments
· Configures concurrent manager
· Works closely with Corporate Accounting
· Works closely with Oracle Financials Application Administrator to resolve issues

· FACT and Dimension Tables
· Schema design
· ETL
· Partitions
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
· Backing up and recovering with Recovery Manager (RMAN)
· Oracle 10g RAC Experience
· Submitting tars
· Configuring memory
· Configuring table spaces
· Writing SQL statements
· Tuning SQL statements
· Configuring database parameters
· Writing Solaris/Linux Shell (Korn,Cshell) scripts
· Oracle 10G (10.2.0.4)
· Patching and upgrading databases
· Operating systems: windows, Solaris, and Linux
· Supporting monthly code release process
· UNIX system level administration – huge plus
REASONING ABILITY
· Ability to use problem determination/resolution skills when working with vendor support sites via telephone or internet.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
· Oracle Certifications are a plus
